Spray Tan FAQ
Please feel free to reach out with any additional questions you may have.
What should I do to prep for my spray tan?
Exfoliate, scrub scrub scrub, shave/wax and make sure to get all beauty appointments done prior to your spray or after your initial rinse off shower. You will want to ensure you are fully prepped before your spray tan. Avoid wearing any perfumes, lotions, deodorants, or oils. If you are experiencing very dry skin, a very gentle lotion may be applied to these dry areas.
If you are arriving to your appointment last minute, we do offer a prep solution for these cases. Not to worry!
How soon after my organic spray tan application can I take a shower?
We suggest waiting at least 6 hours to allow the original organic tanning solutions to fully develop. During these 6 hours, you should avoid doing any activity that will cause you to either sweat or get wet. This can leave stains in your new tan. Just think of this time as an excuse to relax!
We suggest waiting 2-4 hours to allow for our rapid tanning solutions to fully develop. An exact time will be suggested to you by our spray artists, depending on how dark or light you would like your tan to be.
How long will my organic glow tan last?
The amount of time an organic glow tan lasts truly depends on how well you prepared for your appointment and care for your tan.
Typically 5 days after application, you will notice gradual fading in your tan. We recommend using a tan extender cream, you can begin applying it a day or two after your spray.
The key to a long lasting organic spray tan is staying hydrated, and keeping your skin moisturized and protected. You can never apply too much lotion!
Can I swim or use the hot tub with my tan?
Absolutely! Make sure to use one of our waterproof sunscreens if you are planning on swimming or using hot tubs with your tan. Sunscreen will act as a barrier between your tan and the chlorine or salt water that you will be exposing your tan to. When it comes to hot tubs, the shorter your dip is the better. Extended exposure to heated, chlorinated water is not a good idea with a spray tan, but if you insist, apply coola, bask or pevonia all over before your short dip. Also, always pat your skin dry. No rubbing until you are ready to remove your tan.
My tan doesn't look the same this time. Why not?
If you did not get the results you were expecting, this is usually due to your skin not being in the best condition for a spray tan. Your skin can be affected by many things. Possible reasons can include; being sick, using medications, dehydration, a change in diet or workout, menstruation, or being under stress.
Please follow our recommended prep and post spray care to aim for the best results. Hydrated skin and body means a longer lasting tan!
